Salim ABOU RIZK
Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1969, Salim Abou Rizk is a registered Architect and Urban planner based in Beirut with both local and International experience in Architecture, Master Planning, and Urban Design with over twenty five years of experience in the design of projects of various scale and on various levels of intervention, for national and local authorities (consultant for various Municipalities in Lebanon), international agencies (World Bank, EU etc.), international consultancies (Khatib & Alami, ARS Progetti spa Rome, ACT KSA, etc.), and private developers. The portfolio includes projects mainly in Lebanon, the MENA region, East Europe and Africa. The expertise covers architecture design, master planning, urban design, urban regeneration and renewal, resettlement planning, built form control and construction regulations, cultural and natural heritage protection and conservation planning, Landscaping, public spaces design and traffic planning, market analyses, environmental studies, tourism and recreation planning, rural development and urban economics studies, Actually, he is the manager and design principal of the design agency he founded in Beirut.
He is also a Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at the Lebanese University Faculty of Fine-Arts and Architecture since 2000, in charge of Urbanism and Cities History courses and the Master 1 Architecture and Urban Planning workshop.
Abou Rizk also is former member of Beirut City Improvement committee of the Municipality of Beirut, a former member of the experts Parliamentary environmental committee for the Beirut Valley Protection Project, and is also an active member of the “Agence des villes et Territoires Méditerranéens Durable AVITEM“, the Association of Architects and founding member of the Association of Urban Planners, within the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects of Beirut and the Municipal Council of Mtein in Nothern Maten, in charge of the Planning & Studies Committee. He also given multiple lectures about Sustainable Development, Cultural heritage, Beirut urban history & town planning.
