Albert VAN JAARSVELD

Teacher’s Biography

Albert van Jaarsveld is a University of Cape Town (UCT) and Cambridge University Architecture School graduate (2000). He was the recipient of the Prince’s Trust Scholarship and represented South Africa with 3 other architects at the Triennale di Milano, in Milan Italy. Albert is a fully registered architect in the UK and ran his own practice, Cake, in London. He returned to South Africa in 2010 and is a founding member of SEA, School of Explorative Architecture. Albert has been lecturing part time at UCT in undergraduate programs, and for Architecture Masters, Landscape Architecture and the Urban
Design programs at UCT Architecture School. Albert was employed by SAOTA (Stefan Antoni
Ohlmesdahl Truen Architects) as a Senior Design and Project Architect until March 2020. He organised several World Design Capital architecture events, all held in Langa Township, in Cape Town in 2014.
