HOURGLASS – A nostalgic journey

Project description

The project aims in bringing the users together to experience a Nostalgic Journey and be reminded of the environmental changes and have an optimistic approach toward Climate Change and reducing carbon footprint. Region-based materials are provided. The residential space has been provided with functional spaces that would benefit the students such as study pods, courtyards, activity spaces, yoga studios, gyms, etc. Colored glass facades bring in the nostalgic feeling and embrace the space.

Dr Bhakti More is an architect, researcher, and academician with over two decades of experience in design industry and adademia. Currently she is a Deputy Chairperson at School of Design & Architecture, Manipal Academy of Higher Education Dubai Campus. She has pursued her doctoral studies at University of Salford, Manchester, UK and leads the Sustainable Campus Initiative at MAHE Dubai Campus for Green Campus Audit and Sustainability action project. Dr Bhakti has led the Solar Decathlon ME 2021 Team Tawazun and is currently leading the ‘MAHE Dubai Action Plan’ for the initiative, Race to Zero.
