Project description

"Luonnonkoti" emerges bridging nature and urban life. It stands out for its focus and embrace of the natural environment, providing a welcoming residential space for students and researchers. Connected strategically via an elevated bridge to urban key points, it offers an extensive public program throughout. Sustainability is achieved through bioclimatic strategies, the selection of low-carbon footprint materials, recycled and reused elements, and flexible modulation designed for the future.

Mr Gerardo Velázquez

He studied the bachelor of Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. MSc. Environmental Design of Building at the University of Cardiff, Wales, LEED AP since 2009. He founded his studio Bioarquitectura (www.bioarquitectura.com.mx) in the year 2000, were he designed the CIHAC M16 office building awarded LEED Platinum. In 2017 he published his book “Sustainable Retrofitting of Buildings”. Currently he is doing his PhD with the research project “Design methodology of optimized solar shading devices through adaptive-folding facades”.
